EDGE London Bridge project engages with local girls’ school to encourage Women into Construction
The Mace team on EDGE London Bridge have been working hard to build a relationship with local girl’s school St Saviours and St Olaves Church of England School.
During our first session we worked closely with the Construction Youth Trust to build awareness of the roles available in construction. At this session we had representatives from Health & Safety, Sustainability and Social Value to talk about their careers, including how they got into the industry. We then carried out some speed talks where the students in groups had the opportunity to ask the volunteers some questions. We were also able to support with a CV writing session, offering our tips and expertise on how to make a CV stand out.
It was great to be able to inspire some young females to start thinking about the opportunities available to them within the construction industry.
