Chapter London Bridge Tower Crane – Sat 9th/Sun 10th September

CGI rendering of a modern glass building

Further to previous notifications, and following the successful erection of Tc2 on our Weston Street boundary and the removal of Tc1, the Chapter London Bridge development will be erecting Tc1a on its St Thomas Street boundary on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September. These are specialist works managed by a small team of experienced and competent professionals. To comply with safety, statutory and road network requirements, these works must be undertaken over a weekend.

The work will be visible due to the nature of the large lifts and plant involved, however there will be no vibration and noise will be greatly reduced in comparison to a standard day of operations; limited to traffic movements and the intermittent driving in of pins as the mast sections of the tower crane are mechanically fixed. The hours agreed for these works with the London Borough of Southwark are 8am to 8pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Due to the location of the works and their proximity to St Thomas Street, a road diversion will be in place on St Thomas Street for all vehicles between the operating hours of 8am and 8pm. This will re-open and operate as normal outside of these hours. A traffic management plan can be found here, for your information.

Thank-you for your continued patience with the on-going works.
